Procrastination

And so you have set lots of goals and you feel good about your AmWell business. You understand that MASSIVE ACTION = MASSIVE RESULTS..

And yet, procrastination sets in and before you know it, the month has already ended and nothing much has been done!:S

(Picture from chibird)

So what are some good ways of overcoming procrastination?
  1. Break your goals down into do-able daily actions.
For example, say you will like have a 500USD cheque this month. You can work backwards and calculate how much sales you might need to achieve and from which leg. Then you need to calculate where the sales can possibly come from...do you get it by doing demos and closing more sales? Can you do so by motivating someone to set their goal and help them achieve it? If you need to do demos, how many demos a day do you need to do? If you break them up into daily action targets, your goal will start to look more managable :)
  2. Write a daily TO DO list and tick them off
When you write a to do list, you will be focused on your goal throughout the day as you tick them off your list. The ticking off of completed targets will also motivate you to continue to focus and commit to your goal.
  3. Writing your goals daily
Writing your goals daily is a good way to remind yourself and your subconscious mind (which is many times more powerful than your conscious mind) about what is it you want in life and help you focus on achieving your goal. Studies have shown that people who write their goals daily have a higher chance of achieving their goals.
  4. The "WHY" factor
Find out the WHYs behind why you want to achieve your goal and write them down. If you do not achieve your goal, what sort of unhappiness do you have to experience, if you do achieve them, what sort of happiness can you enjoy. Like legs supporting a table, the more reasons you have, the more powerful this motivation will be and the less you will procrastinate. Read these reasons when you feel procrastination setting in...
  5. Talk about your goal frequently with your good friends/leaders and get them to remind you
Sometimes, a good kick on our butts from our good friends is all that is needed for us to get out of limbo and start moving. Attend all groupings, leadership calls, webinars where you can feed of the high impact energy of the trainers and  find new information and reasons to stay motivated!

When do you talk to your prospect about your business?

So you have been doing this business for some time and you sometimes don't know where to start...

So when is the best time to talk about your business and share it with your prospect?

According to Big Al, you should always have rapport with your prospect BEFORE you present your business.

Building rapport means having some sort of trust and relationship with your prospect.

Says Big Al...

"After you have established the minimum level of rapport. The rapport step comes first. Once the prospect is in agreement with you, and you are both walking down the same path with total trust ... then introduce your business."

In fact, Big Al says that this piece of advice is linked tothe reason behind why many new BAs start off well and find their business stalling after a little while.

Usually when we start a business, we do not know much or understand everything about the business that we run. Yet, many people will join us because these people are our friends who already trust and like us. We already have rapport with these friends!

But, once they have exhausted their friends, new BAs will start talking to people whom they do not have rapport with. At this point, one should always proceed to share about the business after rapport is built.

No matter how well the opportunity is presented, people won't join if the rapport step is missing. And this applies to even seasoned leaders.

I once had a seasoned leader with a massive network prospect me. We had gotten to known each other through a mutual friend and in the short time I had known him, I have never felt that I had rapport with him. In fact, I often felt as if I was being looked down upon or treated indifferently simply because I am a woman.

Recently, he tried to prospect me and introduce me to these wonderful products his MLM business was selling. I had no doubt those MLM products are great. (In my personal opinion, most MLM products are great.. because if not, they wouldnt be able to be marketed purely by word of mouth!:))

However, his building rapport stopped at, "How have you been" And he started overwhelming my whatsapp with tonnes of links about this fantastic product. Needless to say I did NOT click on ANY ONE of the links!

Here is another example.

If you have strong rapport and trust, you could say, "You are going to have a box of organic vegetables delivered to your house next week. Have your checkbook ready."

And that would work. But if you do not have that strong rapport or trust... then it is likely your prospect will decline before even finding out more.

So when should you present your opportunity?

1. If you already have rapport, immediately.

2. If you don't have rapport, create rapport quickly, and present immediately.

3. If your prospect is extremely resistant, then build rapport over multiple contacts first.

This rule applies even when you are running an online business. Take some time to build rapport by chatting online via instagram, facebook or twitter with your brand new prospects you might not know very well. You will be amazed how just a little bit of rapport might go a long, long way :)

Some easy ways to build rapport are:

  • Always remember their names
  • Take an interest about them. Ask them questions about their hobbies, their families and things they like and LISTEN. People like to feel important!:)
  • Find something in common and chat about that.
  • If you are having a face to face conversation, you may also mimic their tone of speech, speed of speech and body language to help them feel at ease with you.
  • Smile! Even if you are chatting with them over your computer and they cannot see you, they CAN FEEL YOUR SMILE:)

Do you know how much it costs to retire in your country?

In the Asian context, it is considered a blessing to lead a long life. Elsewhere in the states, in Europe and Africa, longer lifespans should in theory be a blessing.

They can however be a nightmare if we outlive our savings as we enter retirement.

Interestingly, retirement is usually, it is something you do not really think about when are you are just out starting to work in your 20s. Most people give it a fleeting thought by the time they are in their 30s and by their 40s and 50s, many then start worrying or planning about it.

By then though, it may be already too late to start accumulating enough for a comfortable retirement.

In a recent article in The Straits Times from Singapore, it was reported that Singaporeans will need 1.4 million (singapore) dollars if they want to retire comfortably. Factoring life expectancy, and the average retirement age in Singapore and inflation, a person living in Singapore will need about 2000 sing dollars a month (based on current cost) to continue to live a comfortable life by the time they retire.

Figures elsewhere may not be much better as well.

According to an infographic from Flowing Data, people in USA spend an average of 16 years in retirement while in many european nations, people spend between 20-26 years in retirement. That is quite a long time you spend without income and it will take quite some effort to save up for a comfortable retirement life.

Life Expectancy and Retirement Years

Another set of figures released by HSBC bank based on a global survey of 16,000 people in 16 countries revealed that one in every 8 workers around the world expect that they will never be able to retire fully. And if they are widowed or living alone, they expect that they will never ever retire!

14% of the respondents also said the think they will need to go back to work to make up the financial shortfall. In fact, almost half (46%) of the respondents believe they will be unable to realize their lives for retirement as there will be a financial shortfall.

https://www.newsroom.hsbc.co.uk/contentimages/flickr/articles/9797781003.jpg

But this survey highlights what people think about retirement only. In actual fact, the cost of living during retirement could be much higher than most people believe.

In a survey conducted in 2013 by Wellness For Life, they found that 7 out of 10 people think that the only 10% of their retirement budget will be spent on health costs. Experts though, advised that the real figure is actually 3 times more at 30%!

While almost half the respondents believe that they have a plan and will be prepared... only a mere 27% has enough in their plans to cover the unexpected.

So how can we plan for a comfortable retirement?

It seems the best way is to start saving up for it as early as possible. However with rising cost of living all over the world as wages staying somewhat stagnant, it seems most people have few options.

So what options do you have...

You could plan for your retirement by:

  1. Eating less, living a more frugal lifestyle now. But even that may not be enough for a comfortable future. Besides, what joy will there be in life if you had to look at the price tag everytime you wanted to eat in some place fancy or travel to somewhere you wish to?
  2. You could live healthy and eat healthy so that you will need less money for medical expenses. But that would mean you will need more money for a more fulfilling and longer life.
  3. Changing jobs and earning a higher income. But that may not be an option in an economy where high paying jobs are scarce and specific skill-sets are needed for better paying jobs.
  4. You could hold two jobs and sacrifice living life and spending time with your friends and your familly so that you can live better in your later years..
OR...

  1. You could build a an online business with the potential to turn from an extra bit of monthly income into a passive stream of extra income whether or not you choose to work or retire early.
  2. You could get involved with this business, which promotes energetic wellness to bring good health, youthfulness and vitality to the rest of the world.
  3. You could benefit yourself from this business and become younger, healthier and have the freedom to enjoy life anyway you want.
  4. You could run a business that will teach you skills that are applicable to life and any other things you  might want to do and become successful at them because of these skills.
  5. You could build a business that does all of the above... You could become a part of MyAmWellness.com.

How AmWell Changed My Life

“I found out about AmWell in 2006 when my leader invited me to the office.

At that time, I was suffering from cancer. The doctors advised me to go for an operation but I refused to do so as I was a single mother and my 3 children were then too young. My leader introduced me to AmWell’s bracelets and told me that they will be helpful for me. I just trusted him got the bracelet for myself.

The AmWell bracelets were amazing! At that time I was so tired and had problem going up and down the stairs comfortably. After wearing them, I found that I could walk faster and could walk up and down the stairs effortlessly!  I have never been able to do that previously!

Because of the amazing results I was feeling, I started my AmWell Business full time and shared my amazing testimonial with anyone who was willing to listen. For 2 years, I did my demos, testimonial sharing and presentations everyday. I was deeply convicted about AmWell and her products as I looked and felt better than before. Eventually, I had more than 100,000 people in my network!

Over the years, AmWell has made me LOOK and FEEL BETTER AND YOUNGER. I am already 53 years old and my favorite hobby is eating and travelling. Even though I have not really watched my diet or exercised, many have commented that I look much younger than my actual age.

As I am in remission after cancer, I will go for a health check every 6 months. In the past few months, I started to intensively use AmWell’s products. I use the AMPendant, my bracelet and AMGenex DNA daily. I also put on AMIon and my heart is now PERFECT!

My doctor’s report from a clinic in Singapore shows that I longer have any stenosis in my heart. I received a “zero” score for all the different segments being tested and this represents the 10th percentile of the population based on age and gender. In short, my heart is in the TOP TEN percent of the population when you rank it according to how healthy it is! My doctors say that I have very “clean” heart arteries and no blockage at all!

And that is despite the fact that I have no time to exercise and do not watch my diet as I love eating and eat everything! For me, enjoying life to the fullest is most important and so I still drink my coffee and eat whatever catches my fancy. For someone with a lifestyle like mine, I think it is amazing that I am certified with a clean bill of health! I am most certain that if you use AmWell products daily, your heart will become “clean” like mine.

Even if you are undecided about AmWell’s products, keep an open mind and just take part in the demo. Feel the AmWell Difference yourself. You will find out how USEFUL AmWell products are and like me, you will be raring to share these wonderful products with the people around you!
