"Please pay me first, and then I will go to work..."

It is easy to fall into this trap when you are starting out your own business. Especially when the initial investment is small like in that of an online business or a network marketing business.

Many people tend to take the stand that they will only start putting in more time and effort into their business when they start to make money. That is as good as saying I will only put effort to practice soccer when I become a soccer superstar like David Beckham.

In reality, THAT, really is not the way the world works:) I mean, did you really think Beckham could become what he is today if he did not invest lots of time and energy in training and honing his skills and taking care of his good looks?:P

Let's approach this from another perspective...

"Please pay me first, and then I will go to work." or better still, "Why don't you do my work for me so that I can get paid?"

Try saying that to your boss and see what happens.  Chances are, he might get upset at you for your "laziness" and might even fire you:)

The same logic actually applies for your own business... especially your own network marketing business.

We ALWAYS have to do the work ... FIRST.

That is because MASSIVE ACTIONS = MASSIVE RESULTS

Sometimes, people forget that to get the results they want, they have to put in the effort first.

Other times, they are merely waiting for someone else to come push them along or to help them along because, "Well, isn't this the job of an UPLINE?"

But think of it this way, if we are always waiting for someone to come around and motivate us, what will happen if they don't show up? Are we going to stay unmotivated for the rest of our lives?

Every now and then, leaders will receive calls that go along the lines of...

"Oh, I can't be successful because my sponsor doesn't help me. I need more help. Why doesn't my upline sponsor a group for me? Why doesn't my sponsor do my work and prospect, telephone, and present my program to prospects he finds for me?"

Or...

"Why doesn't the company provide this... why don't they provide that? How can I run my business if they don't provide what I need?"

It's funny and hilarious when you read it here on the blog but in reality, these sort of calls happen more often than you think:)

As leaders, we can only smile when we get telephone calls like this.

We know the caller is avoiding personal responsibility for his results and just wants to blame everyone in the world but himself.

What can we tactfully say to the caller to help him grow up and accept personal responsibility? How about replying to the caller by saying:

"So what exactly do you want your sponsor to do for you, that you are unwilling to do for yourself?"

It's not guaranteed, but most distributors will at least begin to accept personal responsibility for their business.

For good measure, it is also a good idea to ask yourself today, "What exactly do you want your sponsor to do, that you are unwilling to do for yourself?" and "What can do you do to start MAKING MORE MONEY from your AmWell Business today?"

We have seen many great leaders in the Network Marketing Industry who have not allowed the lack of support from their uplines or even their companies stop them in anyway from achieving great success in the business. If there was a marketing material they needed and it wasn't available, they would come up with their own... if there was something they needed to do to increase their income, they never waited for their upline to ask them to get it done or for their upline to help them do it but will instead take action to get it done asap.

"What exactly do you want your sponsor to do, that you are unwilling to do for yourself?"

A powerful question indeed!:)
